Wiki is one of the most complicated and not so user friendly website I have used. So far I have been using my time mostly to research different topics on how new media is affecting us positively. Alongside that, I am learning to use wiki efficiently. Once I am confident enough, I will start making contributions. Since, we are going through a pandemic. Additionally, many social media websites have stepped in to bring awareness withing the internet community about how to combat Covid -19. File sharing is when one user is sharing data with another user using the cloud or any external drive. The regular file sharing is basically uploading a file to the cloud and other user simply downloading it using the link. P2P stands for peer 2 peer. In this, the users shares or distributes digital media using the peer to peer networking technology. The file that are shared using p2p technology are directly transferred in the user's device. In order to use p2p file sharing, both the users needs to have the p2p software or be using the software with p2p function Examples - LimeWire, Shareaza, Frostwire, Overnet and many more.

There are many on going issues related to the new media and privacy. Facebook and other social media websites have been accused of leaking the personal information of its users. It is extremely dangerous if this information reaches to wrong people. One major problem of these websites is its terms and conditions. The user confirms to its policies without going deep into reading each every line, the user agrees to share its information. The privacy breach have played an important role in shaping 2016 presidential election. Some might argue that it was straight forward, but there are allegations against Russia to use the personal information of the US citizens to create some sort of disruptency. Now this is harmful as it changes the entire future of the country and the lives of its millions of citizens. There are many ways Baruch can use new media to improve the college. It can use the different social media platform to give students a voice. Baruch can use features like poles to get votes from students opinions on whats best for the college. The college should promote all of its events on the social media platforms. It can also use video conferencing applications to conduct meetings and seminars. This way, the students who are not able to commute very often could benefit from it. Baruch should stay up to date with current generation and generate content that can be relevant for the students on campus. It should have its own snap chat account where students can tag the school so the page can re-post fun and entertaining stuff students are doing on campus. Since we are in the middle of a pandemic, the school has to adapt and utilize all the media platform as much as possible.

I have also added some guitar pieces and piano as well. There's an interesting instrument called harpsichord used in this which is my personal favorite. I added a picture and text using I-movie and uploaded it on youtube.

New media can foster creativity There are abundant resources in form of different websites that can help creative minds. Youtube, Adobe, Snapchat and other social media website can influence people to be creative in search of new content creation. A user of youtube can watch videos and can be inspired with the content they watch. For example, I watch science channel Vsauce on youtube and am always inspired by the information shown in the videos. It expands my knowledge in various subjects and helps me think creatively. An application like photoshop can help creative minds create art like never seen before. I can watch videos of my favorite guitar player and learn new ways to play a song. It help musicians to collaborate and create new music. New media is a great platform to post anything that we create to reach are larger audience.
