Blog v Wiki

  • There are many differences between blog and wiki

  1. Wiki is a website that is developed collaboratively by a community of users, allowing any user to add and edit content. Blog is a personal website, on which an individual records opinions, links to other sites, etc. on a regular basis.
  2. Since wiki is collaborative, it can only viewed by member of the course or specific group. Blog is public and hence can be viewed by all members of the course.
  3. Aim of wiki is to create informative documents while the aim of blog is to share idea or opinions about a subject matter.
  4. Comments are not accepted on wiki. Comments re welcomed on blog to continue the conversation about the subject.

  • In today's world, converging is really important. It is human nature to live within communities and evolve. Convergence is a really important part of our social behavior. This is how we invent, create and develop ourselves as a species.

  • One way to make wiki more useful is to imply it in middle/high school. The students will learn to edit, research and teamwork at an early age which will be beneficial to them in a long run.
