Facebook : A Curse Or A Blessing?

I chose my topic on Facebook. Recently, the social media company has been in news for its data leak controversy. This has taken the users in quite a loop deciding if the platform is safe to use anymore. The company has increased its services, it is not just a social networking website anymore. It is competing with E-bay and other e-commerce websites. In this paper, i would like to cover few things on this topic. First, The goals of facebook when it initially launched and how it changed during the span of last ten years. Also, Recent trial of it releasing the private information of the users. Additionally, Fake news spreading through this platform. I will also write about the benefits of services provided by this website. The readers will be able to decide if this platform is a blessing to the new media or a curse.

Advice

There are many ways Baruch can use new media to improve the college. It can use the different social media platform to give students a voice. Baruch can use features like poles to get votes from students opinions on whats best for the college. The college should promote all of its events on the social media platforms. It can also use video conferencing applications to conduct meetings and seminars. This way, the students who are not able to commute very often could benefit from it. Baruch should stay up to date with current generation and generate content that can be relevant for the students on campus. It should have its own snap chat account where students can tag the school so the page can re-post fun and entertaining stuff students are doing on campus. Since we are in the middle of a pandemic, the school has to adapt and utilize all the media platform as much as possible.
